I’ve automated my social media, my market research, my email campaigns… and today I’m going to tell you how I automate my Google Adwords accounts.

Are you enjoying Spring so far? I’ve been re-energised by a week of island hopping in the Whitsundays, so I’m feeling pretty good.

The best part of my holiday was not thinking or worrying about ‘the business’. And the only way I was able to do that was because I’ve automated a load of my marketing activities. I knew that even though I’d stopped work… my business hadn’t. Pretty great, huh?

Google Adwords is a great way to get a big traffic numbers to your site. The only problem is that to get the most out of it, you need to go in there every day just to make sure you’re not losing money. Or… do you?

Nope, If you automate your Google Adwords and set basic rules to follow (for example increase your spend to $x if you drop under the top 3 spots) then it’ll sort that out for you automatically, and it’ll simply let you know by email.

If you already advertise on Google, I really want you to experiment with some new techniques.

  1. Set up some automated Google Adwords rules, remember there’s no reason why you can’t:
    • Have adverts go out at specific times of the day.
    • Set adverts so they only turn on when your office is open or closed.
    • Set seasonal adverts (you know… for summer, winter… that sort of thing).
    • Have your ads automatically stop if they aren’t making you a profit.
    • Setup your ads to charge you more so you always appear in the top 3 results.

Creating new approaches to your advertising is the best way to grow… and automating your Google Adwords will allow you to get really experimental and strike GOLD in the process.

One of the best examples I’ve seen was a plumbing company who set up a Google Advert that only turns on when their office closed at 6pm. The advert redirects people to an emergency line, and now they get business around the clock.
